Story

After 14+ years on the court, Coach Garnett Thompson found his purpose in coaching — helping the next generation of players reach their full potential. With more than 10 years of coaching experience, he’s seen first hand what quality training, hard work, and belief can do for an athlete’s growth. At G5 Basketball, our Training Programs are designed to develop the skills, mindset, and discipline needed to perform at a high level. Every session focuses on quality training improving fundamentals, building game IQ, and translating practice into real game performance.From beginners to advanced athletes, each program emphasizes skill development, conditioning, and competitive playing and motivating environment where players are challenged to grow every session Train like you play. Our Training Programs

Skill Development

At G5 Basketball, our Skills Development program is designed to help players unlock their full potential by focusing on the core fundamentals, then progressing to advanced techniques and game-ready execution. Every session is built around intentional reps, expert coaching, and a high-energy environment where athletes can grow physically, mentally, and competitively.

Game IQ Development 

Game IQ is the ability to think the game — not just play it. It’s what separates good players from great ones. Players with strong Game IQ understand the flow of the game, read situations quickly, and make smart decisions under pressure.

G5 Girls Development 

G5 Girls Academy is designed to empower female athletes through quality basketball training and skill development. Our program focuses on building strong fundamentals, game IQ, confidence, and teamwork in a supportive and competitive environment.

Group Training

G5 Group Training pushes players to compete, learn, and grow together. Through fast-paced drills, live play, and coach-led feedback, athletes develop stronger skills, better instincts, and greater confidence. This training is ideal for players who want to elevate their game alongside teammates who share the same goals.

Individual Training 

1-on-1 basketball training is personalised, intensive coaching designed to help a player develop their skills through individual attention and tailored drills. The focus of this type of training is on improving a player’s strengths while addressing specific weaknesses. A typical session covers a range of basketball skills, with the coach customizing each workout based on the player's age, skill level, and goals.
